Description

Pay and Hours: $27/hr. 10 hours per week

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Dean of Teacher Education, the part-time Program Assistant is responsible for coordinating the support work and performing the administrative functions necessary for the operations of the Teacher Education program and performs other related duties as required.

Examples of Duties

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Works under the direction of and in collaboration with the Assistant Dean and Teacher Education (TE) program staff to perform the following tasks:

  • Supports Outreach/solicitation, onboarding, and coordination of all placement districts/schools
  • Supports Recruitment, assignment, and scheduling of all Cooperating Teachers (CTs) and Clinical Supervisors (CSs)
  • Sustains and disseminates regular communications to inform, guide, and support clinical interns (CIs), CTs and CSs
  • Responds to daily inquiries from student interns, district/school administration, CTs, and CSs
  • Supports the administration and sustained oversight of mandated assessments and related data collection aligned to internship, including clinical observations/evaluations, edTPA, CPI (dispositional inventory), and Praxis
  • Supports CI, CS and CT orientations
  • Provides ongoing schedule support, which requires data entry, facilitation across offices, student inquiries, etc.
  • Performs related duties as requested

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Basic knowledge of the principles and techniques essential to performance of assigned responsibilities.

Ability to acquire basic knowledge of college policies and procedures.

Ability to understand, analyze, interpret and apply established law, regulations, policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines.

Ability to establish cooperative working relationships and coordinate with other offices or organizations that impact on assigned responsibilities.

Ability to establish budgets and manage those budgets

Ability to work in Microsoft suite as well as Google

Ability to assign and supervise the work of other employees.

Ability to represent the college by participating in or speaking at conferences, meetings, seminars, etc.

Ability to prepare clear, technically sound, accurate and informative reports containing findings, conclusions and recommendations.

Ability to prepare correspondence as well as social media postings

Ability to maintain essential records and files.

Ability to communicate effectively with faculty, students.

Ability to navigate program planning from initiation to completion.

Ability to navigate the internal systems used by Ramapo College

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION:

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree is required.

EXPERIENCE:

Related professional experience in an institution of higher education or in education or another field that is directly related to the functions of the position is required.

Administrative assistant work experience in a K-12 school district or undergraduate/graduate teacher education preparation program is preferred.
